Gordon Baldwin Bowl

superadmin 20th Century Ceramic Art

We have recently purchased a large estate which contains many pieces of antique furniture and silver , a large and interesting collection of important ceramics, and paintings and and many other top quality  items.

Here we have an important work by Gordon Baldwin a world renowned ceramic artist

Gordon Baldwin (born 1932 in Lincoln) is an influential English studio potter. He studied at the Lincoln School of Art and the Central School of Art and Design (1950-53) and was teacher of Ceramics and Sculpture at Eton College Baldwin was awarded an OBE in 1992 and an honorary doctorate from the Royal College of Art, London in 2000. He was influenced by contemporary sculpture and has worked with both earthenware and stoneware. His work has been exhibited worldwide and is represented in many public collections.

The last owner was a colleague and personal friend of the artist and although we do not have the recipe for the pieces we have documentation to show that the two were friends and colleagues. We are selling this beautiful piece on Eaby and viewing in person before bidding is welcome and encouraged

Although we realise that Baldwins works sell for £1000s we  wish to make it an interesting auction so have a low starting price of just £999

This beautiful bowl measures 18′ wide x 16″ x 7′ tall

For obvious reasons this bowl will not be suitable for posting , so collection or delivery by our courier is preferred. I will however do my best to facilitate any request from the purchaser
